Pathfinders (2-3 years)

Pathfinders & Pathfinders Ark

We have two Pathfinders rooms, both working together to ensure a challenging yet achievable curriculum is provided for the children. The Pathfinders team will incorporate your child’s voice within the environment to ensure that the learning experiences on offer are personalised to your child’s interests and next steps.

This is where we begin to see the children becoming conversation starters, eager to tell you what they are doing when you enter the room and asking questions such as what, where and who. The Pathfinders team channel this to further expand the children’s vocabulary and enable them to begin to use more complex sentences.

The children are provided with a range of activities to help further develop their social skills and form friendships with their peers, beginning to develop their turn taking and sharing skills.

This is usually the room where the children begin toilet training. Our Pathfinders team will fully support you within this stage of your child’s development and provide you with ideas and advice. We recommend avoiding the use of pulls ups and only using nappies during sleep times, ensuring that you pack plenty of spare clothes. Consistency is key when a child begins toilet training so we will work closely with you to ensure that what is happening at Nursery is also happening at home.

My daughter attended Loughborough Nursery for three years. I cannot express how amazing the staff and facilities are. The resources they have access to as being part of the Loughborough Schools Foundation are outstanding. –Parent
