Forest School
At our Loughborough Nursery, Forest School offers children the chance to build confidence, self-esteem, and independence through hands-on learning in our beautiful onsite woodland environment. Every session is designed to be engaging and achievable, allowing children to develop essential personal, social, and emotional skills, including problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and self-reliance.
Through both guided and child-led activities linked to our nursery topics, Forest School nurtures imagination, curiosity, and a love of learning. Children gain a deeper understanding of the natural world, wildlife, and the importance of caring for the environment, all while enhancing their social skills and building meaningful connections with peers.
Our Forest School activities include den building, fire lighting, safe tool use, planting, and exploratory play such as the mud kitchen, digging area, and outdoor musical activities.

We encourage safe risk-taking at Forest School, helping children learn how to assess and manage challenges for themselves. Activities are largely child-initiated, giving children the freedom to explore, experiment, and follow their curiosity while learning essential safety skills.
By attending Forest School at our Loughborough Nursery, children enjoy a unique outdoor learning experience that promotes personal growth, creativity, and a lifelong love of nature.
